This presentation will discuss methodological approaches to clinical research, with an examination of designs such as case study, n-of-1 study, whole system research, and patient oriented research. We will illustrate strategies to study nonpharmaceutical interventions in a pragmatic fashion with a pilot study that investigated acupuncture to treat anxiety in children and adolescents.
