The theory of the Nine Continents is one of the oldest philosophical concepts in Chinese mythology, dating back to 2300 B.C. As described in the Nei Jing, The human body is divided into three regions, or Dantian; each further divided into three categories of Heaven, Earth and Mankind. These “nine continents” are the first and most fundamental description of human embryology and physiology in TCM medical texts and are the basis for the diagnosis and treatment of congenital weakness, or Jing deficiency, in patients. Participants in this course will learn the treatment protocols for congenital weakness as described in TCM medical texts.
