The Importance of Narratives in Diagnosis and Treatment: Storytelling, and the Patient-Practitioner Relationship from the Shen-Hammer model

This short discussion will look at foundational principles in building trust and respect in doctor-patient interactions from the Shen-Hammer model, including pulse and other diagnostics, in framing narratives around patients’ experiences of symptoms and disease.

Connections will be made to the long-standing practice of zhuyou (incantatory medicine).
