The Fourth Trimester: The Final Frontier of the Fertility Cycle

This lecture highlights the importance of the fourth trimester, which is the postpartum period that sets the foundation for long-term health and well-being for the mother, child, and their family. The invitation explains that the postpartum period has generally been underestimated and undervalued, but that Asian medicine providers are in a unique position to inform and cultivate new ways to deliver postpartum care. The learning objectives include providing an overview of postpartum care around the world, describing the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual effects of the postpartum period, and learning about the importance of the Golden Hour.
