Can Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs Impact the Epigenetic Programming of the Sperm and Egg Cells?

The presentation will explore the history of the development of epigenetic theory and explain its implication for health and wellness and disease.  Using examples of the sperm and eggs from Western medicine and TCM, we will explore the potential intersection of the two paradigms of healing and how they may be explained using the evolving theory of environmental changes as triggers for the bodies reparative or dysfunctional processes.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will understand the current theory of epigenetics
  2. Herbs, Acupuncture and pharmaceuticals’ impact on health and disease as it relates to fertility will be understood in light of epigentic theory
  3. Future potential integration of Western and TCM medicine’s treatments of infertility will be presented using epigentic theory of human responses to its environment
