Birth Control Pill: Good or Bad Idea for Fertility Care?

Birth control pills have become widely used in current Western fertility practices. In our discussion, we will explore the pros and cons of their use and present alternative and integrative options. Additionally, our objectives include reviewing the current utilization of oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) in Western medical practices, such as the synchronization of follicles prior to IVF stimulation or the suppression of the pituitary gland in cases of ovarian cysts. We will also discuss functional medicine detoxification protocols for individuals with a long history of OCP usage. Furthermore, we will explore alternative options to the OCP in the management of fertility care, emphasizing an integrative approach. Lastly, we will review relevant case studies to further enhance our understanding of this topic. Lecture from IFS in 2015.
