Biography

Allyson has been immersed in the world of Chinese medicine for years, first discovering it when living in Japan from 1995-1997. She started first as a Shiatsu practitioner, and in 2004, received her masters in acupuncture and oriental medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA).
While at NESA, Allyson concentrated in both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture as well as Chinese herbal medicine. The combination of these styles allows for her gentle yet effective approach to treatment. She has studied with well-known masters of both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in addition to her regular schooling. Since 2012 she has been studying with Sharon Weizenbaum in her post-graduate program in Amherst, MA.
While Allyson is a general practitioner, her experience as a female athlete at Holy Cross College (1991-1995) contributes to her special interest in orthopedic acupuncture as well as women’s health issues.
